fox19 “STUDENT VIDEO CHALLENGE” OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES BY ENTERING, EACH participant and ENTRANT ACCEPTS AND AGREES TO BE BOUND BY THESE promotion RULES.                NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY.  team members MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN HIGH SCHOOL TO participate. team members MUST BE RESIDENTs of AND ATTEND A HIGH SCHOOL WITHIN the following states to participate:  OHIO, INDIANA OR KENTUCKY.  this promotion is VOID whERE PROHIBITED by law.               

EMPLOYEES AND IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS OF employees of RAYCOM MEDIA, INC.(RSA TOWER 20TH FLOOR – 201 MONROE STREET – MONTGOMERY, AL 36104), WXIX-TV (635 WEST 7TH STREET – CINCINNATI, OH 45203), TACO BELL, BOOST MOBILE, SAFE AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENT COMPANIES, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, SUPPLIERS, AND THEIR ADVERTISING AND PRODUCTION AGENCIES (COLLECTIVELY, THE “SPONSORS”) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE in this promotion.

 

THERE is one way to ENTER THIS CONTEST.  TO ENTER BEGINNING mONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2005, SUBMIT A VHS VIDEO TAPE LABELED FOX19 Student Video Challenge.  THE VHS VIDEO TAPE MUST BE 45 to 60-secondS IN LENGTH AND ENCOMPASS THE THEME  "Through Our Eyes:  19 Hours in our High School.”   VIDEOS MUST BE MAILED TO FOX19 – 635 WEST 7TH STREET – CINCINNATI, OH 45203 – ATTENTION:  STUDENT VIDEO CHALLENGE.  you may also drop your entries off in person to fox19 at the address listed above.  entries will be accepted in person monday through fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 pm.  ALL VHS VIDEO TAPES SUBMITTED MUST BE RECEIVED BY SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2005 at 6:00 pm TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR GRAND PRIZE CONSIDERATION.YOUR VIDEO TAPE SUBMISSION MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • FOX19 Student Video Challenge Objective:  Utilize your creativity and develop a 45 to 60-second video encompassing the theme:  "Through Our Eyes:  19 Hours in our High School.”
  • Be as creative and original as possible. Originality will play a large part in the selection of finalists and ultimately the grand prize winners.
  • Submissions must be the work of students. Teachers, parents and support people are encouraged to be resources, but project should consist of only student work.
  • Contest is open to all Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky High School Students.
  • All entries must be submitted through an instructor/administrator at the entrant school.
  • You are encouraged to work in teams on your entries.  Although more than one entry is permissible per school, an individual student can participate in only one team entry.
  • Only one submission per team will be accepted.
  • Each team needs to create a team name.
  • Videos must be between 45 and 60-seconds.  Videos that exceed 60-seconds will not be considered.
  • The judging panel will be looking for the following characteristics within your entry
    • Creativity
    • Presentation including direction, editing, design, etc.
    • Effectiveness of communicating theme
  • Judges will consist of media industry professionals.
  • All decisions made by the judges will be final.
  • Please keep in mind that all submissions must meet the on-air standards that FOX19 follows.  FOX19 has the right to disqualify any submission for offensive content.  Offensive content may include but is not limited to:
    • Nudity
    • Foul Language
    • Weapons
    • Violence
    • Drug Usage
    • Alcohol Usage
  • All entries must be received by October 16, 2005.
  • Please make your initial entry in VHS Format.
  • VHS tapes will not be returned.
  • VHS submission must be clearly labeled with the following:
    • Team Name
    • Project Title
    • Instructors Name and Contact Number
    • School
  • All submissions must include the official entry form AVAILABLE ON FOX19.COM.
  • Finalists will be asked to provide master on DVD, Beta SP or DVC Pro.
  • By submitting, schools agree that all or part of the video can be played on WXIX-TV and/or www.FOX19.com.
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2005 AT 6:00 pm EST. IN ORDER TO QUALIFY.  ENTRy forms MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND LEGIBLY IN ORDER TO QUALIFY.  SPONSORS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, LATE, ILLEGIBLE, MISDIRECTED OR MUTILATED ENTRIES INCLUDING DUE TO NETWORK FAILURE.   SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO USE ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY ENTRANTS FOR ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER                  BETWEEN OCTOBER 24 AND 30, 2005, A PANEL OF MEDIA INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL WILL REVIEW ALL THE ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED.  THE PANEL OF JUDGES WILL SELECT 5 potential FINALISTS.  before entries can qualify as finalists, the instructor or administrator who submitted the entry is required to sign a release stating that team members, as well as students who appear in the video (or parents of team members or parents of students who appear in the video) have consented to having the video streamed on fox19.com and broadcast on fox19, and that the school will indemnify fox19 for any claims related to consent and privacy issues.  in the event the instructor or administrator fails to give this release, an alternate finalist will be chosen by the panel of judges. EACH OF the 5 FINALISTS VIDEOS WILL BE STREAMED ON WWW.FOX19.COM BETWEEN NOVEMBER 7 AND 18, 2005.  ADDITIONALLY, THE 5 FINALIST VIDEOS WILL BE AIRED ON THE FOX19 MORNING NEWS ONE PER DAY BETWEEN NOVEMBER 7 AND 11, 2005. THE PANEL OF JUDGES WILL SELECT ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER WHO THEY determine BEST CAPTURES THE THEME OF THE PROJECT. VIEWERS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO select the video that they determine best captures the theme of the project by casting a vote on fox19.com.  viewers will vote at fox19.com.  a link with the title student video challenge will be visible on the home page of fox19.com.  only one vote per e-mail address will be accepted.  A GRAND PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED TO THE VIDEO THAT GARNERS THE MOST VOTES DURING THE NOVEMBER 7 TO 18, 2005 CAMPAIGN.  in the event of a tie, a random draw will determine the grand prize winner. TWO GRAND PRizes will be awarded.  ONE GRAND PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED TO THE VIDEO THAT IS SELECTED BY THE PANEL OF INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS.  ADDITIONALLY, ONE GRAND PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED VIA A PUBLIC VOTE TO BE HELD ON WWW.FOX19.COM.  each GRAND PRIZE IS $1,019 TO BE UTILIZED BY EACH SCHOOLS VIDEO DEPARTMENT.  THE VALUE OF each GRAND PRIZE = $1,019.   one entry cannot win both the judges selection and popular vote.  in the event that the popular vote matches the judges choice, the video with the second most popular votes will receive a grand prize. the odds of winning will depend upon the number of entries received.the grand prize WINNing schools WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL TAXES. ALL finalistS AGREE TO THE USE OF tHE NAME(S) AND LIKENESS(ES) of all team members IN PUBLICITY WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.  BY ENTERING THIS PROMOTION, THE finalists ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WXIX-TV, AND ALL OTHER SPONSORS AND VENUES HAVE THE RIGHT TO PUBLICIZE AND BROADCAST HIS/HER/THEIR NAME, VOICE AND LIKENESS, THE FACT THAT HE/SHE/THEY WON, AND ALL MATTERS INCIDENTAL THERETO.BY ENTERING THIS PROMOTION, EACH ENTRANT FOREVER DISCHARGES AND RELEASES SPONSORS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, CAUSES OF ACTION, SUITS, AND DEMANDS OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROMOTION, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF LIFE OR PERSONAL INJURY RESULTING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATING IN THE PROMOTION OR FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH USE OR RECEIPT OF THE PRIZE(S), HOWEVER CAUSED.  the instructor or administrator that the school designates to pick up the prize will be required to present a valid driver’s license or other appropriate picture identification to claim the prize.  THE WINNER(S), AND/OR  ANY OTHER PERSONS NECESSARY WILL BE REQUIRED TO EXECUTE AND RETURN A RELEASE AND/OR AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY WITHIN 7 DAYS OF DATE OF NOTIFICATION OR SUCH PRIZE WILL BE FORFEITED.  WINNER(S) MUST TAKE POSSESSION OF HIS/HER/THEIR PRIZE BY DECEMBER 31, 2005 OR SUCH PRIZE WILL BE FORFEITED.  IN THE EVENT OF A DISPUTE, ALL DECISIONS MADE BY WXIX-TV ARE FINAL AND BINDING.CONTEST RULES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION BY WXIX-TV.
