Woman killed while standing outside disabled vehicle on I-275
The crash happened on southbound Interstate 275 near Milford Parkway and Eastgate exits (FOX19 NOW)

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A northern Kentucky woman standing outside her disabled vehicle was struck and killed Friday night, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A Ford Ranger experienced a mechanical issue near on southbound Interstate 275 between the Milford Parkway and Eastgate exits in Union Township, troopers said.

The driver, 67-year-old Billie Finnell, exited her vehicle after stopping in the left lane.

Authorities said Finnell was standing in front of her disabled vehicle when another car rear-ended the Ford Ranger.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 32-year-old driver of the second vehicle was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers said alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a factor at this time.

The interstate was shut down for more than an hour.

The crash remains under investigation be the Batavia Post of OSHP.
