Strong wind gusts knock out power for thousands of Tri-State residents

FOX19 - Thousands of Tri-State residents are without power as strong wind pushes through the area.

As of 2 p.m., 29,000 Duke Energy customers had no power. Duke Energy estimates restoration by 4:30 p.m. for most areas.

15,000 outages are reported in Hamilton County. In Clermont County, 3,000 residents are without power, mostly in the New Richmond and Nicholasville areas.

3,000 northern Kentuckians in Kenton and Campbell counties have lost power.

Strong winds are expected today. Some gusts could reach 39 mph. More forecast info here.

Scattered tree and power line damage is possible along with some minor property damage in the highest gusts. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, the National Weather Service warns.
