CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Pat Sims has returned to the Bengals' 53-man roster just days after being waived.

Rookie defensive tackle Josh Tupou was released to make room and subsequently added to the practice squad.

The team had waived Sims, a 10-year veteran defensive tackle, earlier this month before signing linebacker Hardy Nickerson off the practice squad.

Sims, a third-round pick by the Bengals in 2008, has spent almost eight seasons with the Bengals with two seasons in between spent with the Oakland Raiders. He played in 124 games and tallied 336 tackles with 8 1/2 sacks.
