CHEVIOT, OH (FOX 19) - A neighbor rescued an elderly woman from her burning apartment Sunday night, Cheviot fire officials said.
The woman suffered second-degree burns and other injuries when flames broke out about 7 p.m. in the 1300 block of Westwood Northern Boulevard, said Captain Scott Scherpenberg.
Three adults and two animals were displaced, he said.
The woman's oxygen tanks helped fuel the blaze, which was contained to one room.
The cause remains undetermined.
Nearly 30 firefighters from four different fire departments helped Cheviot crews at the scene.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
