Taco Bell in Cincinnati just got a bit boozier.
On Monday, the Taco Bell Cantina opened in the AT580 Building downtown on East Sixth Street, between Main and Walnut streets.
What's different? Well, this isn't your daddy's fast food taco joint. For starters, or actually the entire point: It has booze.
You can grab a beer. But you can also upgrade your frozen Mountain Dew Baja Blast with rum, tequila and/or vodka.
Millennials have been ditching traditional chain restaurants and fast food stops over the years.
The 20 and 30-something crowd care about things like food quality, customization and "fast casual" eateries - places you sit down with your quick-to-order food like Chipotle and Panera. The fast-casual industry grew 550 percent between 1999 and 2014, according to reporting from the Washington Post.
At the new Taco Bell, gone is the drab look of a typical fast food restaurant. Instead, the new Cantina has a more hip and urban design and has an open kitchen where customers can see their order assembled.
