Police ID pedestrian fatally struck in Franklin

An investigation is underway after a man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Franklin on Wednesday.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office said the victim was identified as 55-year-old David 'Weegie' Napier of Franklin. 

It happened around 6:40 a.m. on the west side of the Lions Bridge.

Napier went into the road in front of a vehicle that was traveling north on Miami Avenue and turning right onto Lions Bridge, according to Franklin Police. Witnesses said the vehicle had the green light.

He  was taken to Atrium Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, Jessi Siler, 21, of Middletown, was cited for driving under suspension.

The investigation is ongoing.
