Norwood police allowing holiday packages to be shipped to station

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

The Norwood Police Department is helping residents avoid thieves this holiday season. 

They are allowing residents to have their online purchases be shipped to the police station in an effort to curb porch thefts.

In a Facebook post, the department said residents can have their packages sent to 4701 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45212 through Dec. 24. 

Residents can then pick up their packages 24 hours a day, seven days a week, after presenting proper identification. 

They said packages will only be released to the person whose name is on the package. 

"We want everyone to have a great holiday and getting packages stolen makes for a some unhappy shoppers. We do ask that you respond quickly to get your package once you receive notification from what ever company is shipping that it has been delivered," they said in their post.
