Dog killed, two hurt in NKY shooting

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS (FOX19) -

Police are investigating a shooting that left two people hurt and a dog dead.

It happened around 6:15 p.m. on Hidden Valley Drive in Highland Heights.

Officers arrived to find Jax Schaible, 18, with a gunshot wound, according to Highland Heights Police. He was flown by Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is believed to be stable.

The supect has been identified as Alan Ralls, 26. Police said he fled the scene, but later went into St. Elizabeth Hospital- Fort Thomas with multiple gunshot wounds. He was also flown to UCMC. His condition is unknown.

A dog was killed.

"At this point, it is clear the shooting was drug related and the investigation will continue," said police in a statement.

Four other people, including a juvenile, were in the apartment at the time, "with various levels of involvement."
