CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Our Lady of Peace Chapel, the family chapel built by Cincinnati's Williams family in Anderson Township in 1938, was moved to a new home Sunday.

The chapel was placed on Xavier University's academic mall along Herald Avenue, near Dana Avenue. Reconstruction will begin after Jan. 1 with completion and re-opening expected in June 2018.

The chapel was moved along U.S. 52, to Interstate 275, I-71, and eventually Dana Avenue.

Bellarmine Chapel, built on the Xavier campus in 1962, was also a gift from the Williams family. Additionally, XU's Williams College of Business is named for the family.

Our Lady of Peace Chapel was used by the Williams family for weddings and baptisms through most of the 20th century, but it has not been used for several years. Two years ago, Tom Williams, President and CEO of the Williams' family business, North American Properties, approached Xavier President Michael J. Graham, S.J., about donating the chapel to Xavier.
