OVER-THE-RHINE (FOX19) - "Frisch's Big Boy Presents The Nutcracker" has returned to Cincinnati Music Hall after performances at the Aronoff Center the past 11 years.

Sunday's matinee of the holiday classic drew packed crowds who rewarded dancers and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra with standing ovations.

Cincinnati Ballet Artistic Director Victory Morgan's spectacular production blends the traditional journey of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince to the Land of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy awaits, with more modern, dazzling twists such as Spanish Flamenco dancers and a huge teddy bear.

The Nutcracker Student Matinees are possible in part by a grant from The H.B., E.W. and F.R. Luther Charitable Foundation, Fifth Third bank and Narley L. Haley, Co-Trustees, according to the ballet.

Eight more performances run through Dec 24.
