Renewed Tropical Storm Irene expected to continue intensifying.
The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Irene could become a hurricane by Friday. Forecasters say Irene is building strength gradually as it moves closer to the East Coast.
At eleven p.m Eastern, the storm's center was located about 410 miles south of Bermuda and about 875 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. It was moving west-northwest near 15 miles per hour, though it's expected to slow down.
The storm's expected to continue over the next five days toward the coast somewhere from South Carolina to New Jersey. Forecasters say a Tuesday landfall is possible.
