Candlelight Memorial For Marines

The Glendale and Evendale communities came together on the village square to memorialize one of their own. Sunday night several hundred people lit candles and listened to patriotic music underneath a huge American flag flying at half staff. All of the tri-state marines killed in Iraq August 3rd were honored, but Glendale is the hometown of Lance Corporal Christopher Dyer. He's the first Glendale resident to be killed in action since the Korean War. His body returns to the International Airport Monday around 3pm. Like Lakota East High School graduate Tim Bell, Dyer will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
