OWEN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles on KY HWY 355 in Owen County.
Officials said three people died in the crash.
Police said the preliminary investigation determined one of the vehicles traveling north on 325 left the outside of the roadway then traveled into the oncoming lane. The other vehicle driving southbound collided with the vehicle. The southbound vehicle overturned and caught fire. The northbound vehicle overturned and traveled down an embankment where it came to rest in a field.
The single occupant of the northbound vehicle and the two occupants of the southbound vehicle were pronounced deceased on scene by the Owen County Coroner.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was identified as 56-year-old Hobert Humphrey. The occupants of the southbound vehicle were identified as 62-year-old David Harrison and 61-year-old Sheryl Harrison.
Troopers at the scene said black ice may have contributed to the collision, but an official cause has not yet been released.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
