ERLANGER, KY (FOX19) - The parking lot was packed at the Newcomer funeral home Tuesday night while services were held for a mother and son recently gunned down in their apartment.
It's been one week since they were found dead inside their Burlington apartment, and the search for their killer is still underway.
Kelli Kramer, 31, and her son Aiden, 9, were found shot to death early in the morning this past Wednesday.
"I want the person or persons responsible for taking these beautiful souls from us to get what they deserve. They deserve to rot in a prison cell," said Amanda Warren, a friend and co-worker of Kramer's.
Warren went to the visitation for the mother and son and knew there would be a lot of people there.
"I wasn't mentally prepared for it," she said. "It was tough."
FOX19 NOW's Maytal Levi reached out to the Boone County Sheriff's Office to see where the investigation stands. She was told leads are under investigation, but there are no updates.
Though it's unclear who pulled the trigger, Warren has a direct message for whoever did it.
"Turn yourself in, just do yourself a favor cause the police are going to find you and there are a lot of friends who won't rest until they're found," Warren said.
A "Celebration of Life" benefit is scheduled for March 31 at Muggbee's Sports Bar and Grill, 8405 US Highway 42 in Florence. Proceeds from the event will go to Kramer's parents.
