Remaining New Orleans Residents to be Removed By Force

New Orleans residents who are remaining despite the horrific conditions are being ordered to evacuate from the flooded city.

Mayor Ray Nagin ordered the forced evacuation because the toxic water still covers roughly 60 percent of the city.

The water is contaminated with fuel, sewage, and the remains of people who didn't make it out of the city before the hurricane hit.

The New Orleans Police Department will be responsible for the evacuations as the military continues to distribute food and water to those still in need.

The Army Corps of Engineers estimated that it will take between 24 and 80 days for the floodwater to drain out of the city.
