City Councilman Returns With Katrina Evacuees

A long trip for more of Hurricane Katrina's evacuees has ended in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati city councilman Christopher Smitherman's bus convoy returned yesterday with 16 evacuees from the Gulf Coast. Ten adults and six children arrived at Linwood Elementary School which has been set up as a temporary Red Cross shelter. All of the evacuees registered with the Red Cross and then stayed with host families in the area.

Some evacuees are hoping to return home as soon as it is safe and others are deciding that it is time to move on and have already found jobs and housing in Cincinnati.
