Samantha Herd is a dedicated community leader committed to working for
Samantha’s impressive and diverse roles in city politics includes serving as campaign manager in 1999 for Mayor Charlie Luken and then as his Chief of Staff. In that role, she demanded fiscal accountability by overseeing office finances and worked to correct the city’s overstating of street repairs.
In 2003, after successfully running his campaign for the Ohio House of Representatives, Samantha became the Legislative Aide for Rep. Tyrone K. Yates, working in
Samantha’s political career began as an intern in Mayor Roxanne Quall’s office in 1994 and then legislative aide on the Cincinnati City Council. She has been actively involved in the Hamilton County Democratic Party for the past ten years, serving on the party’s Executive Committee and as a past president of the Hamilton County Young Democrats.
In addition to her political experience, Samantha has been a passionate advocate for strengthening community services. From July 2001 through December 2002, she worked as the chief fundraiser for the urban branches of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati to ensure that children and families had a safe place to spend their time.
Samantha earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Certificate in Urban Planning from the
Samantha was recently married to Mike Culp, Executive Director of the Ohio Democratic Party, in June in of this year.
