Robert Wilking

I have lived in the greaterCincinnati area my entire life. I grew up in the Finneytown area of Springfield Township. I graduated from Roger Bacon High School and Xavier University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Masters degree in Human Resource Development. A current resident of Oakley, I am a member of the Oakley Community Council.

I have been in the workforce since 1980 and am currently employed full-time at a local staffing firm. Throughout this campaign I will be working my job, full-time.

Throughout my years I have served on committees or boards for the following organizations:

  • United Way
  • Xavier University Alumni Association
  • Toastmasters International
  • St. Mary Parish, Hyde Park
  • Cincinnati Catholic Alumni Club
  • Northern KY Chamber of Commerce
  • UpDowntowner

I recently worked on initiatives to place on the ballot that would prevent taxpayer funding of Council campaigns and to reduce the City property tax.

I have prepared myself to assume the position of Cincinnati City Councilmember by focusing in three areas:

The City’s Budget. Familiarity with what expenditures we have, what discretionary funds exist and areas of potential cost savings will be crucial in the next two years.

The City’s Municipal Code, which includes the City Charter. We need to have councilmembers who have a good grasp of what the city can and cannot do.

Neighborhood organizations. Having contact with various Community Councils and learning what issues are facing them.
