New Year's Eve Fire Kills Six Year Old

A fire, less than twenty-four hours from 2006, took life of a six year old boy.

It happened early Saturday morning, about 3:30AM, at a home on Ryland Avenue in Bond Hill.

The young victim was rushed to Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  An infant also in the house at the time of the fire was also taken to Children's Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Two firefighters were treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for receiving minor leg injuries.

The damage is estimated at $50,000, the cause of the fire is unknown.
