Cranberry walnut French toast with caramelized bananas and ginger syrup

6c                    ap flour

1T+1t               baking soda

2t                     salt

12 oz                melted butter

3 c                   sugar

6 ea                  eggs

2 ½ c               buttermilk

1 T                   orange juice

2 t                    grand Marnier

1 ½ c               cranberries

1 c                   chopped walnuts

  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt
  • Whisk together butter, sugar and eggs until well combined
  • Add butter milk, orange juice, vanilla and grand Marnier
  • Stir in dry ingredients and nuts
  • Divide between prepared and greased pans
  • Bake at 325f until done

2 ea                  eggs

1 T                   vanilla extract

Prepared bread

  • Slice bread 2 " thick and dip into egg mixture
  • cook in a butter non stick pan over medium high heat

2 ea                  banannas

½ c                  sugar

1 oz                  chopped ginger

3 T                   dark rum

¼                     heavy cream

1T                    cocoa nibs

  • Remove brad from pan
  • Coat sliced bananas in sugar and add to hot pan until caramelized
  • Add ginger, rum and cook by ½
  • Add cream and cook until syrup consistency
