NAACP Convention Coming to Cincinnati

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is coming to Cincinnati in 2008.  The decision was between Cincinnati and Las Vegas and on Saturday evening the NAACP announced Cincinnati would host the convention.

Mayor Mark Mallory issued this statement regarding the announcement: "The entire Cincinnati Community should be extremely proud.  Today's announcement is the result of a lot of hard work by many people throughout our region.  This says a lot about the direction that we are going in our community, and I am excited about what this could mean for the future of our city.  I want to especially thank the President of the local chapter of the NAACP, Edith Thrower; her leadership has a lot to do with us getting the convention."
