A man who, police say, kidnapped a woman from across her workplace and raped her has told the court that he is not guilty by reason of insanity.

Lawyers for Tyrone Franklin entered the written plea Tuesday in a Hamilton County Courtroom.

Franklin is accused of kidnapping Michelle Dieterle from the parking lot across from the Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services building on Central Parkway just over a year ago.

Police say that Franklin attacked Dieterle in broad daylight as she was heading to work and forced her to pull money from area ATMs. Franklin then allegedly raped the former JFS employee and left her in an abandoned home.

Police in Georgia found Franklin after his mother turned him in after he apparently talked about the attack.

He was returned to the Tri-State where he remains in jail on a 1.2 million dollar bond.

In a tragic turn of events for Dieterle, she was found murdered in her Blue Ash apartment. Police say her estranged husband Ryan Dieterle stabbed her multiple times with a kitchen knife after a argument.
