Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones says there's someone impersonating a deputy and trying to get into people's homes.
A woman in Hamilton says a man dressed as a deputy knocked on her door last week and told her he was investigating a burglary at her house.
The man was wearing a black deputy sheriff's uniform, with no badge or gun belt. The suspect told her he needed to see her prescription medications. He began to count her pills, then took the pills to his car and never went back.
Sheriff Jones says it was no one from his office. He says if you know antyhing about this man impersonating a deputy call his office at 785-1300.
