A man walking his dog were rescued after both fell into a frozen lake at a Hamilton County park.

Fire department officials say that when they arrived at the lake at Winton Woods, the man had gotten out of the icy water, the dog however, had to be rescued by officials.

The dog's owner, whose age was not given, got out of the lake with the help of a passerby.

Officials say that the owner chased his dog onto the ice after the dog ran after some ducks on the frozen surface of the pond.  The ice apparently gave way and both fell through.

The owner was said to be alright and the dog was taken to an animal care facility for exposure to the cold water.
