Two weeks after killing their foster son, Liz and David Carroll were together in a court room to give up custody of their children.
The Carrolls sat at the same table with their lawyers seperating them. This is the first time that Liz and David have been together since they were taken into custody by authorities, charged with killing Marcus Fiesel.
The hearing dealt with the future of their biological children. Since the Carrolls are in jail they have given up their right to the four children. All four are now wards of the state.
It was emotional time for Liz Carroll who is serving a 54 year sentence after being found guilty of murder and other crimes by a jury. As her husband David Carroll was being led out of the room he mouthed that he loved her. As Liz Carroll was led out of the courtroom she was noticibly sobbing.
"I know she's very concerned about her children and who's caring for them and she wants to be with family and that's where the emotion is coming from," said Liz Carroll's attorney Katie Kelly.
David Carroll is serving a 15 year sentence for murder and gross abuse of a corpse after he pleaded guilty in a courtroom two weeks ago.
Both Liz and David Carroll's mothers were in the courtroom during the hearing. David's mother Debbie Hounshell has said that she will try to get custody of the children.
The hearing was postponed so that Hounshell can start the custody process.
