Covington's Ascent Has Final Beam In Place

The unique structure that has been creating buzz in Covington that continues to be under construction is now in a new phase.

The final beam was put into place this morning of the Ascent at Roebling Bridge at the building's "cloud breaking" ceremony.

The beam was autographed by Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher and other dignitaries on hand as well as the building's architect, Daniel Libeskind and those who have worked on the structure.

After signing, the beam was hoisted by skycrane over the building but the windy conditions were too much to set the beam into place atop the 293 foot building.

The condos in the Ascent range in price from 350-thousand to three million dollars with 70 percent of the units already sold.
