A party dance was in order for Amy Johnson by her second grade class, when they found out that she received an award that recognizes excellent educators within the public schools of Hamilton County.
A parent of one of the students in Johnson's second grade class at Maple Dale Elementary nominated her, in part for Johnson's ability to connect with every child in the classroom.
According to Johnson,"When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a teacher, I'm living my dream. I don't know a lot of people who can say that so I'm just thrilled to be doing what I've always wanted to. And to be doing it in such a way that someone think I'm worthy of this award is just unbelieveable, it's a blessing."
