(CENTERVILLE, IN) -- Police have released the name of the teenage boy who drowned in Brookville Lake earlier this week.
Trey Kidwell, 17, was killed when he drove his 1990 Toyota Camry down a boat ramp and into the water and was able to get out of his vehicle.
A passenger, 16-year-old Robert Sharp, was able to get out of the car and call 911.
Police say the boys were apparently got lost on Indiana state route 101 and ended up on a side road leading to the Fairfield Ramp.
Indiana Conservation Officers, with the assistance of the Everton Dive Team, recovered the boy's body and the car about 50 feet away from shore in water that was 10 to 15 feet deep.
This is not the first incident of its kind at Brookville Lake. Last July, a northern Indiana man drowned by driving off the same ramp. Three years ago, a woman and her nephew were rescued after they drove off the ramp in the morning fog.
