Christie Dutton is the latest addition to the FOX19 First Weather Team. Christie made the move up I-75 from the ABC affiliate in Lexington where she has been part of the team that grew the station's morning news to become the station's highest rated newscast.
"We realize that viewers want friendly and familiar faces when they turn on the television each morning," says Dutton. "That's the same thing that FOX19 viewers like about Sheila, Rob and the rest of the morning team," she adds. She also handled weather duties for the noon newscast and held the position of Weekend Meteorologist prior to joining the morning show team. She began her career as a news producer and also worked in the Hopkinsville, KY market early in her career. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and received her Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University.
"I love predicting the weather and it makes all the difference when you can do that in a place where people truly enjoying coming to work. Watching FOX19 Morning News, I can really see that coming across on the air and I'm thrilled to now be a part of it."
