(NEW RICHMOND, OH) -- The Clermont County Sheriff's Office says two deputies were assaulted on Wednesday night by a subject they were attempting to detain.
Deputies John Feldkamp and Adam Bailey responded to Laurel Lindale Road around 11 p.m. for a disorder complaint at a home under construction.
Police say upon arrival, they made contact with two male subjects working on the home. One of the subjects, Larry Armacost, 50, fled on foot and a pursuit ensued.
While they were attempting to place Armacost into custody, a struggle ensued resulting in both deputies being cut with a knife in the facial area. Armacost told the Deputies he ran because he thought he may have had outstanding warrants.
Deputy Feldkamp received a large cut to his forehead and a smaller cut to the bottom part of his left eye. Deputy Bailey received a cut just under his left eyebrow, a scratch to the right side of his cheek, a scratch to the left side of his neck, and a scratch under his chin. Both deputies received medical treatment at Clermont Mercy Hospital and were released.
Armacost was charged with two counts of felonious assault. He will be arraigned in court on Friday.
