Liz Carroll Wants Retrial

(MIDDLETOWN, OH) -- The foster mother found guilty of murdering her 3-year-old foster child is attempting to get a new trial.

Liz Carroll was sentenced to 54 years to life earlier this year for the murder of Marcus Fiesel. Her husband, David Carroll, took a plea deal and is also serving time in prison.

Attorneys for Liz Carroll claim some of the jurors in the original trial had preconceived ideas about the case.

On Tuesday, Middletown's 12th District  Court of Appeals heard testimony for a retrial. The judges took the appeal under advisement, but did not set a date for a decision.
