Reds Exercise Dunn's Option For 2008

(CINCINNATI) - The Cincinnati Reds exercised their option on left fielder Adam Dunn for the 2008 season.  It means that if the Dunn plays for the Reds he will be earning 13 million dollars.  The Reds still have the ability to trade Dunn.

Dunn led the club with 40 home runs last year.  He batted .264 overall with  106 runs batted in and 9 stolen bases.

The club also announced  they have exercised their options on First baseball Scott Hatteberg (.310, 10 hr, 47 rbi) and C Javier Valentin (.276, 2 hr, 34 rbi).

The 2008 contract option of Left Handed Pitcher Eddie Guardado was not picked up. Sports
