Covington Man Arrested For Florence Gas Station Robbery

(FLORENCE, KY) -- A Covington man is behind bars Tuesday morning for robbing a gas station.

Police say Benjamin Wilsey, 20, robbed the Sunoco gas station on Mount Zion Road in Florence around 3 a.m.

Police say Wilsey did not display a weapon, but threatened to shoot the clerk when she hesitated to give him the money he demanded. He then fled on foot after obtaining the cash. Boone County Sheriff's Deputies arrested him less than an hour later. He was located in a nearby car, sitting on the stolen money.

He is being held in the Boone County Detention Center, charged with robbery.
