UPDATE: Duke Energy Worker Dies After Being Struck By SUV

(MADEIRA, OH) --

FOX19 has confirmed with the Hamilton County coroner's office that Jeffrey Johnson has died.

Johnson was pronounced dead at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday night following injuries sustained in an accident Tuesday morning.

Previously:

A Duke Energy working is in critical condition after he was struck by an SUV while on the job.

Police say Jeffrey Johnson, 49, of Newtownsville, was working on Shawnee Road when he was struck by a GMC Jimmy operated by Keshia Jordan, 28, of Cincinnati. Jordan failed to maintain control of her vehicle, allowing it to travel off the right side of the road.

Johnson was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. Jordan was not injured.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
