LOUISVILLE (WAVE) -- Fire crews are on the scene of a blaze at the Courier-Journal building at 525 W. Broadway. It's a small fire on the roof of the building, which has been evacuated.
Fire crews quickly contained the blaze, which sent billows of smoke from the roof visible for miles.
Employees tell us that an air-conditioner on the roof caught on fire. Workers did say they had received emails during the week advising that maintenance was scheduled on the AC unit this week,
No word yet on the extent of the damage, but there is heavy traffic congestion in the downtown area and lots of people gathered outside watching fire crews do their work.
