Chanita Craig has been sentenced to four years in prison on child endangering.
The child was treated at Children's Hospital for second degree burns to his torso and legs.
Chanita Craig's bond has been set at $100,000.
Chanita Craig turned herself into police around 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
She is charged with child endangerment and will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
A child was rushed to the hospital on Monday after a caller told dispatchers he was badly burned.
Police and paramedics were called to an apartment building on McHenry Ave. for a report of a babysitter putting a child in scalding hot water.
There is no word on the child's condition.
Police have issued a warrant for 25-year-old Chanita Craig. Her last known address is listed in Forest Park. Police are looking for her.
