(INDEPENDENCE, KY) --
The fiscal court made the decision to place the jail near the Animal Shelter off Ky. 17, on Mary Laidley Dr. in south Covington.
"We're all set to go. All we have to do is figure out how to come up with the money," said Drees.
A decision is expected today on where the site of a new Kenton Co. jail will be.
The Kenton County fiscal court is meeting this morning to make a decision. The site of the jail has been a controversy in the county for almost a year.
Judge-executive Ralph Drees wanted the jail off of Pelly Road, but hundreds of residents complained, saying it was too close to neighborhoods.
They offered a second location near the Kenton County Animal Shelter, off of Ky. 17.
FOX19 will have the latest information on the decision as it becomes available.
