The accident occurred just before 8 p.m. at the eastbound entrance ramp to Norwood Lateral from Reading Road.
Charles Tickel, 55, of Arlington Heights, failed to control his vehicle and went off the right side of the road , striking an embankment, fence and then a building located at 4620 Reading Road, Richards Electric Supply Co.
Tickel was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.
