Update: Police have released the name of the second shooting victim as 26 year old Lashawn Lewis.  He was transported to UC last evening with a non life-threatening wound.

Cincinnati Police are investigating 2008's first homicide in the city. 

It was just before 1:30am when police were called to a nightclub in Over-the-Rhine where two people where shot inside Ocho Rios club at 221 E 12th Street.

When officers and paramedics entered the club they found the body of Pernell Thomas on the elevated dance floor. 

A second shooting victim was transported to University Hospital for a non-life threatening injury.  The second victim's name has not been released.

Police say anyone who has information about this shooting can call the Criminal Investigation Section at 352-3542 or Crimestoppers at 352-3040.  Callers may remain anonymous and may receive compensation for their information.
