Ohio Attorney Gen. Files Suit Against Harmony School

(CINCINNATI) - Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann has filed a lawsuit against a Cincinnati charter school.

The suit asks Hamilton County Common Pleas Court  to declare that Harmony Community School is a failed charitable trust.

The suit cites academic failure, financial mismanagement and ethical lapses.

In his pleadings, the Attorney General alleges that Harmony has failed to accomplish it primary charitable purpose: educating its students, despite receiving 31.9 million taxpayer dollars since 1998 and asks the court to terminate Harmony's charitable trust, to permanently enjoin Harmony and its governing authority from operating a community school, and to redirect the state funding Harmony has been wasting to public and charter schools.
