UPDATE: Police Release Sketch Of Boone Co. Rape Suspect

(FLORENCE, KY) -- The Boone County Sheriff's Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Florence.

Around 7 p.m. on Sunday, police say a man purporting to be an undercover police officer displayed a badge and told the 49-year-old female victim that he needed to search her apartment for a possible intruder. Once inside, the man allegedly brandished a handgun and forced himself on her.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 40's, medium height (5-foot-8 to five-foot-11), slender build and a balding/buzzed haircut. He was unshaven, wearing a multi-colored ball cap, brown leather or synthetic jacket, black silk type shirt with stripes, blue jeans and new white and gray Reebok sneakers.
