Hamilton Co. Grand Jury Indicts Victoria Lasita

(CINCINNATI) -- A Hamilton County grand jury has returned an indictment against Victoria Lasita, the Delhi mother of two sets of triplets.

Prosecutor Joe Deters says between June 27, 2007 and July 10, 2007, Victoria Lasita (aka Higgins) passed three bad checks at the Advantage Bank on Glencrossing Way in Green Township. The checks were drawn on a bank account belonging to Lasita, which had been closed for some time. The checks totaled $2,650. She received a portion of the cash with losses to Advantage Bank totaling $997.94.

Lasita was in the news in August 2007 when she gave birth to her second set of triplets and again in January 2008 when her home burned to the ground, one day after she had been interviewed by Green Township detectives about the bad checks.

Lasita has been indicted on three counts of passing bad checks and one count of theft. If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison.

FOX19 has learned that Lasita will not be arrested, but will be summoned to appear in court.
