UPDATE: Victim In Oakley Pedestrian Crash Identified

(OAKLEY, OH) --

Update: Police have released the name of the victim. He is George Ewing, 71, of Oakley.

Police say Ewing was not crossing in a crosswalk.

The driver has been identified as Freddie Bostic, 56, of Forest Park. He was not injured.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol are not factors in the crash and are asking any witnesses to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.

No charges have been filed.

Police are investigating a pedestrian's death in Oakley.

It happened around 5 a.m. in front of the Target store on Marburg Ave. Currently, Marburg Ave. is shut down.

Police say the man, who police say is in his late 60's or early 70's, was struck by an SUV, but aren't sure if he was in a crosswalk or not. It is believed the man was trying to get to a bus stop.

The driver of the SUV says he didn't see the man until he hit him.

Investigators remain on the scene collecting evidence.  FOX19 is continuing to gather information and will have the latest for you as it becomes available.
