Hopper Gets 22 Years In Campbell County

(NEWPORT, KY) -- The man called the "Blue Eyed Rapist" after a series of rapes all over the Tri-State was sentenced in Campbell County on Thursday.

David Hopper pled guilty last month to a rape and receiving stolen property for an incident at the Subway shop in Cold Spring.

Hopper recieved 22 years in prison. Twenty of those years will run concurrent with his 32-year federal gun charge sentence and two years will be run consecutively with that sentence.

On Wednesday, Hopper was sentenced in Grant County on charges of rape and sodomy for an incident  at the Big Dog Clothing Store in Dry Ridge in January of 2004.

Grant County Circuit Judge Stephen Bates sentenced Hopper to 20 years in prison. That sentence will also run concurrently with a federal sentence of 32 years on gun charges.

Upon Hopper's release, he must also register as a sex offender.
