Hamilton County Voter Turnout Could Top 55%

(CINCINNATI) -- Election officials are predicting 55-percent voter turnout. That's 20-percent higher than in 2004.

Voters lined up yesterday so they could vote early in Hamilton County.  And about 40-thousand people voted absentee, that's up from just 10 thousand in 2004.

One early voter we found was Tracey Diarra. "It's amazing I'm excited about this election. Its wonderful. I'm just glad to see so many people participating"

The polls will remain open until 7:30 tonight.
