(GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH) -- A local boy was honored Monday night for a courageos act.
A few weeks ago, 9-year-old Carter Johnson witnessed a dog attacking three girls, ages 5, 6 and 7, near his Green Township home. Johnson pulled the dog off the girls and told them to run, while he was bitten by the dog.
Johnson and one of the girls required treatment at the emergency room for injuries, but both have recovered.
"Can't imagine that a 9 year old boy would be that brave to do that," said Chris Gramke, one of the victim's fathers.
"He's different than most kids. He's very smart. He's very brave. I'm just very proud of him," added Charlie Johnson, Carter's father.
The Green Township Trustees honored Carter for his bravery and quick thinking by presenting him with a plaque and a new bicycle at their meeting Monday night.
