(WEST CHESTER, OH) -- A West Chester man has been arrested for two counts of felonious assault after police say he inflicted injuries on two children.
The charges stem from a child abuse investigation that began on March 29, 2008. The West Chester Police Department was alerted by Butler County Children Services that a 3-month-old child at Children's Hospital had various injuries, including broken ribs and skull fractures. Subsequent investigation revealed that a 2-year-old child from the same family was suffering from skull fractures.
It was determined that Jeffrey Briley knowingly inflicted the injuries on both children. Police say Briley is not a parent of the children, but he was living in the family home and having a relationship with the children's mother.
The incident occurred in the 7800 block of Cox Road.
