Driver Involved In Crash Allegedly Had Expired Driving Status From 1975

(OVER THE RHINE) -- A driver was seriously injured Monday afternoon after he crashed into a building during a police chase.

Police say they observed Lawrence Brown, 57, in a hit skip accident near Liberty and Central and tried to pull him over when he took off, and sped through Over-the-Rhine, reaching up to 60 miles per hour.

The chase finally ended when Brown crashed into a building at the corner of Marshall and McMicken.

Police say the driver was injured in the crash, sustaining facial injuries and possibly some internal injuries.

Police say the driver had a driving status that expired in 1975 and that alcohol was a factor. He now faces a long list of charges, including failure to comply.
