Fire in Symmes Township Leaves Many Without a Home

Investigators say that careless smoking was the cause of the fire in a Symmes Township apartment complex the leaves eleven families without a home.

Around 4:15pm on Friday, Loveland Symmes fire crews were sent to the 12000 block of Sycamore Terrace road for multiple calls about a fire. When they arrived, the apartment complex was under heavy fire. Crews from Deerfield and Sycamore Townships, Mason, Sharonville, Blue Ash, and Montgomery fire departments also helped fight the blaze.

When the fire was finally put out, fire investigators found that the second floor balcony was the origin of the fire. Total damages for the building are estimated to be at 1.2 million dollars.

Luckily, no one was injured, but a cat and dog were lost in the fire.
